    Resumen

This paper presents a solution to maximize the precision in obtaining simultaneous measurements of multiples points from the environment comprised of a system consisting of a CMOS camera detector and a laser emitter. To obtain a high accuracy 3D coordinates measurement system, it is first necessary to make a high precision calibration of the CMOS camera-laser sensor. We propose a sensor and its calibration method that may be used in precision metrology, in determination of objects geometry, and in the positioning of a mobile system. In our system, the camera is equipped with a lens of short focal length, in order to obtain a great field of view in short distances. The laser is equipped with an optic in order to emit a structured light plane. In this paper, we present the general scheme of the system, the utilized mathematical model, and the results of the calibrations for a specific sensor.
